JUDGE CONRAD CYR RECEIVES NORTON JUDICIAL EXCELLENCE AWARD
JUDGE CONRAD K. CYR of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit received the Third Annual Judge William L. Norton Jr. Judicial Excellence Award at the annual meeting of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges in November 2008. Mr. Deschene had the honor and privilege of serving as Judge Cyr's senior law clerk from 1991 to 2008.
JUDGE CONRAD K. CYR received the Third Annual Judge William L. Norton Jr. Judicial Excellence Award at the annual meeting of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges in November 2008. The Norton Award recognizes lifetime achievement in scholarship, writing, and service to the bankruptcy system. Judge Cyr, a senior judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, is a former NCBJ president and editor of the American bankruptcy Journal, and had a pivotal role in the 1970 Commission on Reform of the Bankruptcy Laws and in the development of the 1978 Bankruptcy Code. A donation of $10,000 in Judge Cyr’s name was given to the American Bar Institute for educational purposes. Attorney Deschene was a senior law clerk to Judge Cyr from 1991 to 2008.
